The Sandwich Generation
http://talkingeyesmedia.org/sandwich
The Sandwich Generation, those held between their aging relatives and immature children, includes some 20 million Americans.
In this emotionally charged comment of family caregiving, filmmaker Julie Winokur and her husband, photojournalist Ed Kashi, display their personal lives with steadfast candor. Winokur and Kashi uprooted their dual children and their business in sequence to pierce 3,000 miles cross-country to caring for Winokur’s father, Herbie.
At 83, Herbie suffers from insanity and can no longer live alone. Winokur and Kashi are faced with formidable choices and strenuous shortcoming as they assign conduct on by their Sandwich years. It is a story of love, family dynamics and a infinite scapegoat of those who are held in a middle.
